Mike

Thank you for another great episode! I liked all the episode but what grabed my attention, was to hear that not even the poor drink unfiltered water. Is the water in Brazil that bad? Can you give some more information about this on a future episode? And I found hilarious the end of the episode with the parrot, I searched for Brazilian curse words but I didn't found out yet, about those words or the B-word.
Keep the episodes coming and I hope you will also increase your revenues with the help of Miltons suggestions and with the donations. Tchau!

Kinsey

Hi Mike,

Thanks. We talked a lot about the water situation with Spanky. It's probably completely safe to drink, but no one drinks unfiltered water, probably because it was unsafe many years ago. It's sort of like the situation in some European countries (like Germany) where people only drink bottled water even though the tap water is perfectly fine.

Regina

Hey, Mike. Thanks for mentioning Deep Brazil! I owe you one.

gunstreetgrrl

hilarious episode... ok, milton, for the record the difference between historic and historical is...
historic = monumental, important in history
historical = of or related to history

so you would have a historic occasion and a historical location.

i drank tap water in sampa, bahia and mato grosso do sul, to the horror of my brazilian friend, and nothing happened. then again i am serbian-montenegrin so by nature am more poised to withstand any attack, armed or bacterial ;)

Kinsey

gunstreetgrrl, welcome to the show! I know what you mean. Braziianisms are always very shocked to see someone drink tap water. You can elicit a similar effect by eating pizza with your hands.

Gunstreetgrrl

hey kinsey - thank you! yeah, i started (ok, tried) eating pizza with my hands when i moved to the US. it still feels weird. and pizza here is about ten times heavier due to the toppings! i am still horrified when i see people shoving slices in their mouths but hesitate to say anything for fear of being coined a snooty european :)

btw eggs and tuna on pizza are an art lost on people here. shame..

downside of your podcasts (other than saudade) - i feel constantly hungry when listening.

Kinsey

Gunstreetgrrl, yes, that's one problem with Brazilian pizzas. They're just not designed to be picked up with the hand. Sometimes the topping slide right off.
