Burger Chef & Jeff in "The Ghost of Grizzly Mountain"

Remember Burger Chef? Everyone thinks that McDonald's invented the Happy Meal, but they're really just copying the Burger Chef funmeal, which predated it by many years. The funmeals were cool, and, as with happy meals, they always included a toy surprise. Pictured above is a Burger Chef record, which came with someone's funmeal many years ago. (I don't know who, since I bought it on eBay.) I've digitized it, so now I can listen on my iPod to Burger Chef and Jeff in an epic adventure entitled "The Ghost of Grizzly Mountain". It's an interesting tale. Strangely, Jeff seems to be a composite of Robin (From Batman and Robin) and Shaggy (from Scooby-Doo). (What's even stranger is that both those characters are indirectly related, having been voiced by Casey Kasem.) If you want to know more about Burger Chef, go here.
As I do every week to conserve bandwidth, I'm sending the MP3 out via e-mail to people with Gmail or Yahoo account (since they accept large attachments) who have expressed a desire to receive the weekly audiotrack about which I blog. If you are interested, just let me know, and I'll add you to the list.

I really must get back into the habit of posting regularly. A couple things of note: Will has started a secondary multimedia blog on which he's posted his first video entry. Interesting stuff. I forgot what the second thing was. [Read More]

Oh! My God! I'm going right down memory lane at this very moment. Whoosh. Burger Chef! Totally!

This is why I love you, am willing to marry you, and will even meet you in Wyoming -- but not Montana. You have great taste in memorabilia and mp3s.

Snowball, thank you. I've got to keep the names of those two states straight. (Repeats to self, "Cheyenne is in *Wyoming*".)
By the way, I was wondering if you could pick something up for from that German bakery before you come to meet me in Cheyenne. I'll reimburse you, of course. If it's even half as good as Bakerina says, it must be unbelievable.

I'd be delighted to bring you goodies from my local bakery. Do you have anything particular in mind to fuel your caffeine and sugar driven trek across the west?

Snowball, you probably have an idea of what their best stuff is. I guess ideally it should be something portable and not overly messy, perhaps cookies. But if you do bring cookies, you probably shouldn't get me more than 500, because I shouldn't be allowed to have that much sugar all in one day.

How could I get a copy of "The Ghost of Grizzly Mountain" mp3 or get on your mailing list? I vaguely remember that record from a funmeal as a kid in Indianapolis. Looking at your blog, It looks like you dig up some interesting stuff.

Dave, I've just e-mailed you a copy.

When we were children, my brother and I collected every one of these records.

I still have them somewhere. I've thought about digging them out and digitizing them.

In the meantime would you please send me the mp3?

Thanks

Dean,

Sure thing. I've just e-mailed you a copy.

Wowsers... I randomly decided to Google "Burger Chef", and was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few sites devoted to that late, great restaurant chain.

And the kicker: I own a copy of a single-sided, plastic record entitled "Transylvania's Big Game" (referencing a football game).

I'm going to peruse the internet to learn more about my favotite childhood burger joint...

My brother and I used to listen to "The Ghost of Grizzly Mountain" all the time, until my mom gave most of our records away. If you could email the MP3 of this, it would make my brother's Christmas! (My favorite part of Burger Chef was that they gave you a plain burger and you could go to the condiment bar and select your own toppings)

Scott, I've just e-mailed it to you.

Merry Christmas!

Tvindy,

I've enjoyed reading your blog, particularly about your memories of Burger Chef and Jeff. I grew up right across the street from a Burger Chef, and have many fond memories of the 15 cent burgers.

Do you still have the MP3? I would love to have a copy.

Thank you,

Pepper

Pepper, I've just e-mailed you the track as an attachment. It's over 3 megabytes. Hopefully your e-mail provider won't block it.

Tvindy,
I got on google to specificly look up the old burger chef and see if I could find something out about the "monster record" that I got in a funmeal. I can't believe you digitized it! You are the man. Thanks for the memories.
Would you be so kind as to send me the MP3. My account below allows for uber-large emails.

Thanks!

Shizzy, I've just sent it to you. Enjoy.

Tvindy--
Could you email a copy of that MP3? I've got my Burger Chef collection online for folks interested in seeing it (at the URL below.)
Thanks--RT

Ooops, here's my email. I guess if I type in my URL it overides the email...oh well...here goes:
RowdyTheologian@yahoo.com

Thanks again--RT

Rowdy, I just sent it.

Any chance I can get you to send "The Ghost of Grizzly Mountain" to me as well?

Donny, I've e-mailed it to you.

Could I please get an .mp3 as well of the burger chef and Jeff? I think I actually still have the record some where along with another that is black. If I find them, I will send them to you.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul, just go here. I've put up a link there that you can use to download it (and two other Burger Chef adventures).

If you are still up to answering requests...I would love a copy of that MP3...THANKS!!!!
