Glowing Eyes

Jason's favorable response to the pic I posted of the cat in the tree with glowing eyes prompted me to post this one which I believe to be even better (at least in terms of glowing-eyed kitty pics).

Edam

Edam1

I couldn't think of anything to write about today, so I dipped into my old photos. I took this in the Dutch town of Edam in 1999. Cheese makes me happy.

More Fridge Pics

It looks like I wasn't quite finished with the fridge meme. Today I was going through my old digital pics, and I came across an old pic of the inside of my fridge in Indiana taken in December of 2002. (I was probably documenting how it looked before I cleaned it.) The second picture is of my parent's fridge, taken at roughly the same time.

Gourd Bugs

I took this way back in August. I'm definitely an entymologist, but in my layman's opinion, I would say that this species of insect really likes gourds.

Namibian Sunset

I took this in Swakopmund, Namibia in 1999. Believe it or not, I did not use photoshop to exaggerate the colors. This is what it actually looked like (minus the excessive contrast that sometimes results from scanning slides).

Perhaps the effect is due to all the dust in the air over there. Or maybe the fact that this occurred on one of the handful of days when Swakopmund received a little rainfall had something to do with it. I never thought to ask whether this was a normal phenomenon or not. It could very well be, since Africa is known for its sunsets.
